The remarkable Model T and TT in truck form served all manner of trades really well and it was not until 1926 that work started on a replacement. Hence was created the Model AA in a more congenial driving mode with power coming from a strong 3.3 litre four cylinder engine driving through a special four speed manual gearbox to the rear axle. Like its predecessor, the Model AA truck was based on the new A Saloon but with a stronger chassis to accept the higher loads and a different radiator and gearbox. Once again Ford had produced a popular Commercial which remains very popular to this day.

This right hand drive AA Lorry was, we understand, the subject of a complete restoration, possibly in the late 1980s or 90s. Apparently it was a nut-and-bolt job, with a chassis imported from California, a new body fitted and the radiator, king pins, bushes and brakes all replaced. It has formed part of a large private collection of historic vehicles for the last twenty two years but has now travelled to Dorset from Nottingham for auction.

Equipped with its original Scottish registration number, the Ford is in used condition, not concours but nevertheless in tidy and serviceable order, subject to mechanical recommissioning as it has been in dry storage for a few years. The underside is in a good clean state, as is the cab and the Dropside body.

The Model AA is supplied with old MOT test certificates (2002 - 2012 not inclusive),photographs, a V5 document, an older V5C and the current V5C registration certificate.
