1973 MG B GT

This project MG has been in the current long-term family ownership since the late 1980s, during which time a considerable number of improvements have been carried out, as evidenced by the large history file containing invoices for specialist work and parts. This work has included a specialist engine rebuild in 1987 (a point of interest here is that the work was carried out by local company Perrett Engineering, and it is worth noting that a low number of miles have been covered since the rebuild).

Since then and up until August 2023, other work completed has included a brake overhaul with most components replaced, the fitting of a new clutch assembly and an inspection of the ignition system with any necessary parts also replaced. Many items of brightwork have been renewed, including the bumper assemblies and body mouldings; the front windscreen assembly and seal was also replaced, as were the tailgate seals.

The bodywork now appears to be sound with no serious rust and the interior should revive with some valeting. The left hand door trim needs refitting. As the B has been laid-up for over a year, a recommissioning service will need to be carried out.

The history file contains numerous invoices, an older MOT test certificate and the V5C registration certificate.
