In 1965, Rolls-Royce introduced an entirely new design with unitary construction, self-levelling independent suspension and servo assisted brakes with three separate circuits. Power was provided by a V8 engine of 6750cc, driving through a GM three speed automatic gearbox. Progress was swift for such a large car and the smoothness was exceptional. In 1977, the Silver Shadow II arrived with rack and pinion steering and a modified front suspension, furthermore improving the prestige model range.
We are informed that this example has no known mechanical faults, apart from a slight transmission oil leak. Cosmetically, although the coachwork appears to be sound, the paintwork could be improved upon in some areas. The interior is tidy and presentable.
The Rolls-Royce has been in the current ownership for six years; we understand that it has provided reliable, prestige transportation and is a pleasure to drive.
The V5C registration certificate is supplied.
