First introduced in 1989, the Discovery has become as synonymous with the English countryside as its cousin, the Defender, has. Based on the Range Rover’s chassis and drive train, the Disco was marketed as a more affordable luxurious off-road vehicle to the British public. The first evolution was the Discovery ‘I’ and is now widely considered to be a classic, perhaps mostly for its four cylinder engine which was never again used for any other Discovery model.

This Series One, three door, seven seat Discovery has been in the current ownership for some eight years. The vendor describes it as being good in most departments, and assures us that the V8 3.5 litre carburettor engine and five speed manual gearbox both operate smoothly.

We are informed that the exhaust has recently been changed to a stainless steel system. Importantly, items that are usually found to be broken or missing on Discoverys of this era are all intact on this example, such as the original roller boot cover, sunroof holder and detachable head restraints. The jack, wheel brace and storage bag are also present. H933 AEG is usefully equipped with a sump guard and snorkel, ideal for all-terrain challenges.

We understand that this Disco has been regularly serviced and is supplied with a history file containing all MOT test certificates from new and the V5C registration certificate.
