From 1957 until ’75, Fiat produced its cute city car, the 500, available in saloon, van and estate forms, which was warmly welcomed by an adoring European public. The baby estate called the Giardiniera arrived in in 1960 and was the 500 model with the lengthiest production run. It retained the D’s rear-hinged doors and 499cc engine, and had a surprisingly expansive load space, due to the engine being mounted under the rear floor. The motor cars were fitted with drum brakes, a non-synchro gearbox, independent suspension and an air-cooled twin cylinder 499cc engine which provided cheeky performance.

Although this particular example would benefit from some cosmetic improvement, the rare Fiat is certainly worth spending your Euros on and is a usable, practical and quirky little classic, well suited to the twenty-first century.

The current custodian has enjoyed using the Fiat as daily transportation (in preference to his Rolls-Royce) but a change in his circumstances means that he has reluctantly decided to part with his bambino and so here it is on offer now, supplied with its V5C registration certificate.
