1982 Beauford Open Tourer

A popular Wedding Car from the Devon and Cornwall area, this substantial touring car is finished appropriately in Devon White with maroon upholstery. With generous seating for four and with four doors it offers good access for bridal gowns and paraphernalia.

Beauford is a family run automobile company, based in Biddulph near Stoke on Trent. With the rumoured recent takeover of the Morgan Motor Co, by an Italian Firm, is this the last of our genuine British Car Companies? The cars are supplied in kit form and are thus likely to be completed to individual tastes and requirements, so no two are likely to be the same.

With a wheelbase of 10’6” and weighing about one ton, the chassis is of the steel box section with the elegant GRP body attached. The bonnet and closing panels are alloy. An additional picnic box is a nice feature and a Moto-Lita wood rimmed steering wheel.

This particular example is powered by a Ford 3 litre V6 petrol engine driving through an automatic gearbox producing a lively interesting drive! The owner tells us that that the motor car is in good condition all round, but would benefit from the engine compartment tidying up and a repair to the left-hand running board. Recent work has included the fitting of new front brake pads.

The motor car will be offered with a current V5C registration certificate and an MOT test certificate.
