Memorabilia Collection for our Spring 2018 Sale

Malcolm Palmer is a lifelong motorsport enthusiast, who became a technician engineer working on diverse competition cars such as the Tony Pond Mini Cooper and Lotus Cortina rally cars to Penske Indy Cars. Malcolm turned to marshalling as a hobby and became a member of the British Motor Racing Marshals Club; working at circuits and rallies in the UK and abroad, he rubbed shoulders with many of the great drivers both from the past and from more recent times, giving him the opportunity to collect motorsport memorabilia.

We are very pleased to be offering Malcolm’s covetable collection at our forthcoming spring auction sale, which will include numerous lapel badges for: the RAC Rally of Great Britain with year bars for: 1966, ’67, ’69, ’70 and ’71; the London Rally with 1967 and ’68 bars; the Daily Mirror World Cup Rally; the A.C.O 24 Hours le Mans; Team McLaren Mercedes; Penske; the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Revival meeting; Ford Steward Grand Prix and others. The collection also includes motoring art (approximately fifty signed framed prints), posters, Formula One programmes, high quality boxed models (some of which are autographed), signed pictures of Le Mans and F1 drivers, team clothing and lanyards, key rings and cloth overall badges ( to include Cooper, Uniroyal and British Leyland Special Tuning – Abingdon). Added to this are numerous autographs from the likes of John Surtees, Stirling Moss, Jack Brabham, Derek Bell, Jensen Button, Mario Andretti, Miki Hakkinen and many more great drivers.

This truly amazing collection of memorabilia will be offered at our 8 March sale at Athelhampton House, near Dorchester. Please keep an eye on our automobilia pages for the individual lot listings.
