A gentleperson’s sporting saloon of great character, hand built by the Riley brothers in the pre Nuffield era. Rumour has it that in the early years, no two cars were identical and even the joints in the woodwork one side could be different from the other side depending on whether Percy or Victor Riley was building that side. Power came from the famous twin cam 4 cylinder engine which coped well with the steel saloon body given the 9h.p. rating.

This example is nicely presented in black (although now without a coachline) and is complimented with a light tan leather upholstery. The paintwork is generally very good and the interior benefits from re upholstered front seats and a lovely dashboard with full instrumentation. There is a sliding sunroof. The engine compartment is tidy and looks as though it will respond to a gentle re-commissioning, although we understand that the mechanics are in good order.

CKM 348 comes with a V5C registration certificate and a large history file listing owners from the first through to our current vendor, with much useful information on work carried out by its last owner and various Riley specialists. An instruction book and maintenance book are also included, as well as a wiring diagram and a quantity of invoices.
