The Riley brothers brought a lot into the pre-war world of the sporting motorist. Popular amongst their vehicles were the exciting 9hp offerings, from the simple Monaco saloons through to the open Lynx tourers.

Nowadays the Lincock Coupe is not often seen and the vehicle we are pleased to be offering was actually one of these fixed head coupes, which was converted in the fifties and given the convertible treatment. Shame you may think, but actually it still appears to have the Lincock mechanics with twin SUs offering more power to the OHV 9hp engine and a manual crash gearbox rather than the less popular pre-select unit. The lovely forward view over the bonnet and headlamps is undisturbed and this is still very much a true Riley in character.

This sporting Riley is finished in Burgundy paintwork is generally in good condition with few blemishes apart from some minor issues mainly on the front wings. The interior trim is in light grey and appears good. The wooden dashboard offers all the usual Riley instruments, the steering wheel is as original and the cockpit generally maintains that period charm. The rear seating is a bonus for such a motor car. There is a folding hood and a full length tonneau cover.

OY 7992 has been in the current motor engineer ownership since 1997 and comes with a V5C registration certificate, plus an RF60 registration book, some old MOT test certificates and workshop invoices.

There are many Riley specials still in use and there is no reason why this one should not be enjoyed as it is very much a product of the Riley Brothers and would be accepted by the VSCC.
