1929 Levis A2 350cc

Manufactured by Butterfield Brothers of Birmingham from 1911 to 1940, Levis were for some years England’s leading manufacturer of two stroke motorcycles. Levis being Latin for ‘light’, the bikes gained considerable success in competition during the 1920s, particularly so in 1920 and 1922 on the Isle of Man. The A2 had a sporty twin port 346cc engine had was very successful in the International Six Day Trials of 1927, 1928 and 1929, apparently not losing a single point throughout, thus gaining gold medals and a reputation for performance with reliability.

This single seat example formed part of the private collection on offer, all in nicely patinated condition but needing re-commissioning before use. This one has a bulb horn, 2 toolboxes and a luggage rack.

Paperwork includes the V5C registration certificate, a period instruction book and various invoices and pamphlets.
