Coventry Motor Sundries Ltd are thought to have produced about 200 specials based on the 1929 – 1931 Morris Minor Two Seat Sports. They used the same mechanicals as the then ‘cammy’ Morris but offered a choice of more sporting styles. The Super Sports could be had in metal or fabric bodywork, with a dashboard having instruments on the passenger side of the cockpit, plus cycle type wings. It was an interesting little car with a seriously high fun rating.

This example is fitted with a CMS replica body that was fitted as part of a complete restoration. We understand that the chassis, the same as the MG M-Type, was restored as appropriate, as was the engine and running gear. Period lighting and instrumentation were also fitted. The seats are trimmed in leather, carpets have been specially made as has the tonneau cover, which is mohair.

The history file contains a detailed schedule of work carried out during the current ownership and it makes for interesting reading! It is worth noting that the Morris was manufactured in 1930 and registered on the 1.1.1931. The history file also includes photocopy pages of the ‘Autocar’ and ‘The Light Car and Cycylecar’ featuring the CMS Minor, plus invoices, drawings, images, the RF60 registration book and the V5C registration certificate.
