When Morgan Motors reintroduced a modern version of the original three wheeler sports, this seems to have ignited interest in the older models and in particular the more affordable examples of the nineteen thirties and forties. The F4 was announced in 1933, in three wheeled form with a steel chassis , simple coachwork with seating for four and powered by Ford’s 1172cc side-valve engine. On offer here is a dream of an F4 restoration project with just five owners from new, totally dismantled and with the available parts clearly on view and ready to receive attention and assembly.

After hearing about this 1948 example from the Morgan Three Wheeler Club, the current custodian purchased the motor car from a farmer in Truro in July 1977. We understand that the F4 was in a complete, assembled state at the time, but required total restoration and as such, the vendor purchased it as a long-term project and began to dismantle and procure parts, most of which came through the Morgan Three Wheeler Club. As is often the case, time passed and the restoration was never completed, so we now have the opportunity to offer the rare and exciting opportunity to purchase an original Morgan F4 which has been in the same ownership for forty five years and is known to be complete with a number of spare parts also included in the sale. It is worth mentioning in particular the following items: two reconditioned carburettors, two reconditioned fuel pumps, two distributors, two chassis (one a new reproduction), four wheels with good tyres (two of which are new), a Ford E93A engine (with starter and dynamo), a Ford 100E engine, all seats in black Rexine, and a great deal more. We are told that the body is original to the car and that the hood is serviceable, having been repaired by a company in Telford.

The extensive history offered with the Morgan includes a large number of Morgan Three Wheeler Club bulletins, a re-print handbook, a photocopy handbook, a manual, a Ford E93A parts list, a photocopy Lucas Morgan F4 parts list, many invoices dating from the late Sixties and late Seventies in particular, correspondence, hand-written notes and the V5C registration certificate.
