A very British motor car, the S Series combined the finest standards of luxury and refinement with 100 mph performance in an outstandingly elegant body. Who could fail to be proud to own such a superb vehicle, which some say, became the pinnacle of the classic Bentleys?

Driving an S1 or being driven in one, you get an amazing impression of quiet. There should be little or no background noise and you are simply wafted through the countryside in tremendous style. The smell of the leather and feel of the magnificent woodwork with picnic tables, cigar lighters and thoughtfully placed mirrors, all add up to being utterly spoilt for driving anything else of the period.

213 DVK has gained a Rolls-Royce radiator grill, a popular conversion in the seventies for those eschewing the sporting Bentley image for the real status symbol of driving behind that famous grill. This was a particularly favourite conversion with operators of Wedding Car fleets as the Rolls was seen as the way to make a more memorable arrival, especially at one’s nuptials.

The motor car is probably ready for a little rejuvenation bodily, although the interior still has the air of dignified ageing, which may provide further service in wedding duties. The 6 cylinder engine of 4887cc is coupled to a 4 speed automatic gearbox. The motor car runs and drives but service history is unknown. Sensibly reserved, the Bentley comes with a current V5C registration certificate and an RF60 registration book.
