Very popular in the Thirties, the 10/4 appeared in 1932 with a simple ladder chassis and 6 volt electrics. By 1934 the chassis had been strengthened by cross bracing and 12 volt electrics used. Various body styles were available in saloon, tourer, drophead coupe and cabriolet form, and in addition, there was a commercial model.

This delightful ‘10’ Lichfield Sunshine Saloon once resided overseas and was repatriated in 1981. This time abroad has no doubt contributed to the preservation of the vehicle; we also understand that at some point, the Austin was the subject of a restoration. It is equipped with sensible upgrades of a battery master switch and flasher indicators. We are told that the interior is very smart, with a fitted rear roller blind, and all instrumentation and controls are apparently original. Apart from some micro-blisters to the bonnet, the paintwork is described as being in good condition and mechanically, we understand there to be no known faults.

The Austin has clearly been maintained to a very high standard and we are assured by the current owner that it is a pleasure to drive. It is supplied with a file containing sundry paperwork, the V5C registration certificate and a handbook.
