Built to celebrate twenty five years of Mini production, only 3511 units of the 998cc ‘25’ were produced, and were finished in Silver Leaf with a complimentary Flint trim with red piping.

This Mini 25 has had just two female custodians, members of the same family, from new. It was purchased on the 31st of July 1984 from Fianders Garage Ltd of Blandford Forum for £3825.94 including VAT, road tax and petrol, in the Silver Leaf and Flint colour scheme detailed above. The first owner retained the Mini until 2008 when her daughter-in-law became custodian, and in 2016, the decision was made to restore the motor car using a new Heritage bodyshell. All components were checked and renewed as required during the restoration, which was carried out by Somerford Mini Ltd, a British Motor Heritage approved Mini specialist. A large quantity of invoices are supplied with the ‘25’, detailing the restoration; the bodyshell alone cost almost £7000 and other major parts fitted included a new rear subframe, five new tyres and a new carburettor. The only modification from standard is a conversion to an electric ignition. We understand that the total cost of restoration was in the region of £19,000.

The original Flint velour upholstery is in good condition, as is the carpets and interior trims. The headlining was replaced during the restoration. We are informed that the mechanics have been checked and are in good  working condition. The Mini sits on its original steel wheels with the aforesaid new tyres.

The history file includes the V5C registration certificate, the original sales invoice, handbooks, all MOT test certificates dating back to 1987, old road tax discs, all servicing invoices, a large quantity of restoration invoices and the body panel catalogue.

B409 OFX is probably the nearest to a new Mini one could possibly find and a very special motor car.
