1985 Yamaha SA50 M Passola Electric

In May 1980 Yamaha introduced theSA50 Passola, which was targeted at ‘the working woman’ as an economic mode of transport.  With its Italian styling and Japanese mechanics, the Passola was a sophisticated little moped. The UK version had a two-speed transmission, and with acceleration up to 30mph, the Yamaha offered good overall performance.

This example had had just two lady owners from new. It was last used on the open road in 1996, confirmed by the road tax disc still in situ, and has been in long term dry storage ever since. However, with a new battery and a thorough recommissioning, the classic moped should prove to be a quirky, economical little runabout with the added benefit of being a very rare machine.
