First appearing in 1997, the V70 was the Estate version of Volvo’s S70. The new generation of models had a more rounded, softer styling than their predecessors, and were equipped with all the refinements we came to expect from the Swedish company. Robust, reliable and with acres of space in the cavernous load space, the Volvo estate was and continues to be as much a favourite with families as it is amongst antique dealers and furniture restorers.

Interestingly, this example’s only registered keeper did indeed deal in antiques. The V70 is described as being good in most departments; the bodywork is clean and tidy (although the left hand front grille is missing) and the black leather upholstery is only showing signs of light wear, which could be easily rectified with leather care polish. A new battery has been fitted in recent weeks.

The motor car is supplied with the original handbooks and service book, which reveals a full Volvo service history at the same dealership throughout. The history file also contains the V5C registration certificate.

With low mileage for its age and an interesting registration number, this Volvo Estate is surely excellent value for money.
