The name Velocette conjures up images of large high speed motorcycles, but they also made smaller ones aimed at the commuter market and these were known as the Valiants. They were available from 1957 to 1963 and had a four stroke 192cc flat four, air cooled engine with four speed gearbox with shaft drive. Suspension was by telescopic forks to the front and Woodhead-Monroe springs to the rear with hydraulic dampers.  To counter the rising scooter market, the Veeline was introduced, which consisted of a Dolphin full fairing (often discarded) with large windscreen, instrument binnacle and glove box.

We understand that this example, finished in green with gold coachlines, has been the subject of a sympathetic restoration and a mechanical overhaul. All felt washers, gaskets and seals have been renewed, as has the exhaust silencer and the carburettor and braking system have been overhauled. The petrol tank has been restored, rechromed and resprayed and the motorcycle has been completed with new brackets, straps and handles. The kick-start has also been renewed.

The history file includes technical data, a sales sheet, a spare parts lists, a service manual, an owner’s handbook, the RF60 registration book and the V5C registration certificate.
