Coming from a long line of highly esteemed British sporting motor cars, the TR7 of the mid-seventies had a lot to live up to. In response, Triumph produced an entirely new sports car with an over-head camshaft four cylinder engine and unitary construction, designed in the iconic wedge shape that was so favoured at that time. The model was not without its criticism but in fact was very popular and outsold the TR6 by some way before production ended in 1981. Today, it represents an inexpensive entry into classic motoring and indeed the TR series.

With few owners (and the current since 2010), this Triton Green metallic TR7 is described as being good in most departments and a solid example, without the usual ‘tin worm’. Recent work includes the fitting of a new timing chain and replacement tyres; the cylinder head has also been skimmed and the black mohair hood is almost new. Understandably, the grey interior is showing some signs of wear but is serviceable.

We are informed that the TR is a good driving sports car and has been regularly maintained and serviced.

The large history file that accompanies the motor car contains TR Register paperwork, a vast quantity of invoices and MOT test certificates, the handbook, a V5 document, the V5C registration certificate and its latest replacement.
