Following a less than successful launch from the motoring press, the Stag has gained popularity over the years, thanks largely to the efforts of the Owner’s Club in rectifying early issues with overheating etc. Now one can enjoy that lovely V8 motor and the excellent four seat accommodation within this genuine Grand Tourer. Whether you prefer an automatic gearbox or the manual with overdrive, this is a relaxing long-legged vehicle to nurture and use.

This Carmen Red example has been with the present owner since 2002 and has amassed a substantial amount of history and manuals etc, as contained in two box files. The bodywork was resprayed in 2012 and still looks good. The tan interior is in original vinyl with carpet described as fair. The walnut dash contains the original instruments, all working apart from the clock.

The black mohair hood is good but the zip fastener for the rear window is broken. There is a hardtop which could be available but it needs a replacement rear screen.

Mechanically the engine and ancillaries are described by the vendor as good. The manual gearbox is fair but the overdrive is not working. Otherwise brakes steering, exhaust are described as good.

With the Triumph will come a V5C registration certificate and the two large box files of information. A sensibly reserved Stag needing a little work from a new enthusiast owner.
