The Triumph Stag was introduced in 1970 and production ran until 1978. The body was styled by Italian Giovanni Michelotti and offered four seat accommodation with a choice of hard or soft tops, or both. A substantial T shaped roll bar added strength and improved safety. The specification included a choice of automatic or four speed manual gearbox with Laycock overdrive, electric windows, power assisted steering and servo brakes. The 2997cc V8 engine may have had an inauspicious start, with overheating problems, but hard work by the Owner’s Club and other specialists, have largely overcome this problem and provided that maintenance recommendations are followed, the Stag can now be enjoyed as the grand tourer it should have always been.

UFS 675R has the manual gearbox with overdrive and has the benefit of both hard and soft tops. This is an original right hand drive car, which has apparently not been restored as such. Bodywork is described by the vendor as good, the chrome is said to have aged and there is a little work needed to the leading edge of the hardtop. Mechanically, the engine has had a new clutch with slave and master cylinders in 2013 and the rear brakes had new wheel cylinders and shoes. Front and rear suspension bushes and track rod ends were replaced and a hand brake cable was renewed in 2013. The mileage is currently stated to be just over 46,000, which is believed to be correct. A look through old MOT test certificates would suggest that it certainly has had only light use since 1997.

A nice original motor car offered in Russet Brown with tan trim, and with a file of bills appertaining to the work as described, together with some old MOT test certificates and a V5C registration certificate.
