In the 1920s, the Sunbeam Motor Car Co. Ltd of Wolverhampton was at the top of its game, producing quality sports and touring motors, as well as successful racing cars and record breakers. All of the vintage era production were rivals to Alvis and Bentley.

This grand roomy four seat tourer was purchased by the late Stephen Pettifer some thirty years ago from a Dorset gentleman who had previously restored WA 2359 over a period of three years. This work apparently involved an engine rebuild and restoration and repainting of the coachwork, which has held up well. The original upholstery was refurbished and is still present, although showing signs of wear, as one would expect. There is an Auster rear windscreen for the comfort of the passengers travelling in the rear of the Sunbeam, the hood is in serviceable condition as are the sidescreens. The brightwork, of which we are told the majority is silver plated, was refurbished some twenty years ago and the Artillery wheels were rebuilt in 2009.

We are informed that the Sunbeam is a pleasure to drive and has been used reliably at rallies and tours all over the UK and parts of Europe without serious faults. Recently, the water pump and magneto have been overhauled but after a period of storage, we would recommend that the new owner carries out a recommissioning service before returning the motor car to the road.

Included in the sale is a framed painting of the Sunbeam, a photocopy instruction and spare parts list and a V5C registration certificate.
