From 1956 until 1971, the Morris Minor was produced in large numbers both in saloon, convertible, estate car and commercially as a van or pickup truck. With simple mechanics comprising a four cylinder engine and a four speed gearbox, maintenance was easy and petrol consumption at around 40 mpg meant this was indeed a cheap car to run. With an accessible spares back up and the superb Morris Minor Owners’ Club for support, the Minor is as popular today as it was in its heyday.

This very original four door Saloon has had just four previous owners. The current custodian purchased the motor car from Minor Miracles in 1989 and has used it regularly since; the Morris was even called into service as a wedding car last year. It has been maintained by a local garage and MOT tested every year, even though the 1960 example is MOT test exempt.

Recent work includes the fitting of a new clutch assembly and new carpets, and we are informed that the motor car is equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system and radial ply tyres. The original trafficators are still present. The vendor informs us that there is a small tear in the headlining and an audible rear axle whine, but otherwise, the Minor is described as being good in most departments.

311 MKX is supplied with a large history file which contains a vast number of invoices and MOT test certificates, an original handbook, petrol coupons, the RF60 registration book, two V5 documents and two V5C registration certificates.
