From 1956 until 1971, the Morris Minor was produced in large numbers both in saloon, convertible, estate car and commercially as a van or pickup truck. With simple mechanics comprising a four cylinder engine and a four speed gearbox, maintenance was easy and petrol consumption at around 40 mpg meant this was indeed a cheap car to run.

Purchased by the vendor’s Grandfather when it was just around a year old, this Minor Saloon then passed to its vendor’s father in 1973 and thence to his son, the current custodian, in 1977, making the Minor virtually a one-family motor car from new.

The Dorset barn stored split-screen Morris was last on the road in 2007 and has been upgraded with a later engine that readily starts, runs and drives in and out of the aforesaid barn! It is unusually equipped with a tow bar which was used to pull a trailer carrying a lawn mower and tools for its gardener-owner. Prior to its retirement, the Minor was treated to new carpets, headlining and door cards, together with a new exhaust and a GRP boot lid.

As well as a new windscreen weatherstrip, the Morris is supplied with a large history that includes twenty five MOT test certificates, the V5C registration certificate, numerous invoices and even petrol coupons.
