From 1956 until 1971, the Morris Minor was produced in large numbers both in saloon, convertible, estate car and commercially as a van or pickup truck. With simple mechanics comprising a four cylinder engine and a four speed gearbox, maintenance was easy and petrol consumption at around 40 mpg meant this was indeed a cheap car to run.

It would be fair to say that this Minor Traveller is very unusual insomuch that the vendor has completely brush painted the exterior of the vehicle, including the timber.  This decision was made to ‘tidy – up’ the Morris, but don’t let this influence you: on inspection, one can observe that the underside is clean and has probably never been welded, the interior is very smart and the engine compartment is far superior than the average Traveller.  Mechanically, we understand the motor car to be good in all departments. The Morris has the benefit of electronic ignition.

This motor car is used daily and will be driven to the auction sale – some sixty miles.  OTV 949G is an ideal workhorse, or could be restored and made into a ‘glamour puss’- but in a way, that would be a pity.  An extensive file contains invoices, MOT Test certificates from 1977, a BMC passport to service book and the V5C registration certificate.
