With an accessible spares back up and the superb Morris Minor Owners’ Club for support, the Traveller is as popular today as it was in its heyday. It provides reliable and economical classic motoring, as ideal for family outings as it is for practical, every day transport.

As one might expect, XMF 296G was once the property of a Vicar and has, according to the V5C, had four further keepers. The number of invoices supplied with the Traveller suggests that it has been generally well cared for.  The underside has seen recent refurbishment and the interior is pleasant and possibly quite original. The bodywork has been brush painted.

The previous owner tells us that mechanically all is well apart from a tendency to slip out of second gear on over-run. This is thought to be due to a broken selector spring, but has caused little or no inconvenience or lack of enjoyment of the vehicle. With safety in mind, the Minor has been sensibly upgraded with Halogen headlamps and seat belts both front and rear. The exhaust system is stainless steel.

The car is offered with V5C registration certificate, a handbook, a Passport to Service book, a BMC accessories brochure, numerous MOT test certificates and a vast amount of invoices, together with a copy of the June 2013 edition of Country Living magazine, in which it appears in the hands of a rather more attractive driver than currently is the case.
