1985 Mercedes-Benz 280SL with Hardtop

The ever popular 107 Series Mercedes-Benz is famed for its quality of build and outstanding reliability. This fine example has benefitted from a programme of sympathetic restoration carried out during the last three years, which has included a complete respray, the fitting of new rear seats, a driver’s seat re-trim, and the fitting of a new stainless steel exhaust, boot spoiler, wind deflector, mud flaps and fire extinguisher. We understand that £6000 was spent on parts alone.

Regularly serviced and described as mechanically sound and stunningly well presented, we are told that the only blemish on the motor car is a small indentation to the left hand sill moulding. The interior trim and carpets are described as excellent; the hardtop is obviously present and the good, serviceable hood was fitted four years ago. The Mercedes resides in a heated garage and never sees the rain.

The history file contains a photographic record of the aforementioned restoration, invoices, handbooks, MOT test certificates, the V5C registration certificate, two hardtop levers and spare keys. The distinctive registration number is also included in the sale.
