Frederick Lanchester’s prototype was built in 1895 and the Lanchester name became well known for first class engineering and a good degree of innovation. The ‘18’ was announced in late 1931 and was offered with a 2.5 litre six cylinder overhead valve engine linked to the Daimler fluid flywheel and Wilson pre-select gearbox.

This particular pretty Drophead Coupe body is by Martin Walter of Folkestone, also known for supplying coachwork for Daimler and Vauxhall. We are told that a full restoration was undertaken from 2003 to 2008, which included a rebuild of the pre-select gearbox and the engine was converted to take unleaded fuel.

The car comes with a large history file, including the V5C registration certificate, various invoices and correspondence.

A great opportunity to enjoy a well-engineered and comfortable, quality Drophead Coupe.
