In 1956 Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa decided to bring into production a completely new design in motorcycle construction.  In post -war Europe and particularly in Germany, the moped was a great success: an economical machine, aimed at the average person. Soichiro Honda was engineer and leader in production for Honda and saw to capitalize on the popularity of mopeds and lightweight motorcycles. The ‘Super Cub’, or ‘C’ series of mopeds, have been in continuous production since 1958 and are the world’s most produced range of vehicles in history; nevertheless, earlier versions are a rarity and remain hugely popular.

This C70 ‘Step-Thru’ has been in the ownership of one lady since its manufacture in 1973. It was last used on the open road in 1986, confirmed by the road tax disc still in situ, and has been in very long term dry storage ever since. Although the moped starts and runs, remarkably, recommissioning is recommended before this very rare, super little Honda returns to the lanes of Dorset.

The C70 is supplied with its V5 registration document.
