According to Cadillac at the time, 1976 was going to be the last year of production for the American convertible. To celebrate, the final two hundred Eldorado Convertibles off the production line in April were identical, painted in Cotillion White, with white leather interiors piped in red, white convertible top and a commemorative dash plaque. As 1976 was the America’s 200th birthday, these cars soon became known as the “Bicentennial” editions and were eagerly snapped up by collectors. Cadillac kept the very last one off the production line for its own museum.

This particular example, body number 013902 (no. 102), was acquired by its present owner in 1992 while living in America and brought back to England in 1997. Since that time it has only covered some six thousand miles. According to the Bicentennial Eldorado register (www.bicentennialeldorado.com) it is the only known example in the United Kingdom.

We understand that OFX 348P is very original and is described as being good in most departments. The paintwork could be enhanced in small areas but generally is very presentable, as is the chrome and brightwork. The power hood is in full working order and the upholstery has fared well, although the door trim armrests could be improved. We are informed that all instruments are in good working order, as are the heating and air conditioning systems. The vendor assures us that there are no known mechanical faults; recent maintenance includes the fitting of a new water pump.  The impressive motor car sits on its original road wheels and the correct whitewall tyres. It is worth noting that spare parts are easy to obtain.

The file contains the V5C registration certificate, numerous MOT certificates and the vendor’s original Pennsylvania certificate of title.
