The Birmingham Small Arms Company was established in 1860 by a group of gunsmiths who produced military and sporting firearms. In 1880, the company diversified into bicycles and by 1911, the first 3 ½ hp motor bicycles were in production. The Bantam has been with us since the early 1950s and was in service with GPO personnel for telegram and postal deliveries, as well as being popular with private individuals. Its charm may well lie in its simplicity, being easy to use and maintain.

This late example is finished in blue and black and has the 175cc engine and four speed gearbox. There were apparently three former keepers and the vendor tells us that the 11800 miles indicated on the mileometer may be correct although we are unable to warrant this. We are told that new tyres have recently been fitted and there is a fresh MOT test certificate.

The machine is supplied with the V5C registration certificate.
