The Birmingham Small Arms Company was established in 1860 by a group of gunsmiths who produced military and sporting firearms. In 1880, the company diversified into bicycles and by 1911, the first 3 ½ hp motor bicycles were in production. The Bantam has been with us since the early 1950s and was in service with GPO personnel for telegram and postal deliveries, as well as being popular with private individuals. Its charm may well lie in its simplicity, being easy to use and maintain.

This example has been in dry storage since 2001. With its original Wiltshire registration, we are informed that the machine is complete, which offers two distinct possibilities: to restore the Bantam back to its former glory, or to recommission and use it as an ‘oily rag’ motorcycle.

The Bantam is supplied with sundry paperwork, the V5 document and the V5C registration certificate. It is currently on SORN and the road tax classification for this motorcycle is 'historic'.
