1990 BMW R80 RT

The R80 RT was produced by BMW from 1981 until ’94 and was a stylish, chunky touring machine capable of reaching 101 mph. As with all BMWs, the R80 offered exceptional build quality and reliability and now for those looking for a modern classic touring motorcycle, they offer excellent value for money.

This particular example was supplied new by H Robinson and Sons (Rochdale) Ltd, and was purchased by the late Mr Sansom to add to his collection in 2003. He was the fifth owner and the mileage was recorded as 34351 on the vehicle condition report, dated 22.5.2003. The BMW remains in good cosmetic condition for its age and is supplied with a pair of original equipment Touring panniers. Judging by the BMW invoices included in the file, the motorcycle has been well maintained, but the ignition locking barrel and key will now require replacement. After a period of storage, the R80 will require recommissioning before returning to the road this summer.

The history file contains the aforesaid invoices, twenty two MOT test certificates, a parts catalogue, the original warranty, the 2003 sales invoice, the vehicle condition form, the V5 document, the V5C registration certificate and its replacement.
