Sometimes there comes an opportunity to behave quite sanely in the acquisition of a classic car and this is probably one of those occasions.

To be confronted with such an amazingly fine example of an easily run Austin A40 is without doubt a rare experience to be grasped and treasured, as it clearly has been for its entire life.

Supplied new by Henlys of Bristol, this motor car has spent the last twenty years in the hands of a true enthusiast, who has now sadly passed, leaving a motoring legacy guaranteed to give enormous pride of ownership to the new owner.

Finished in immaculate Horizon Blue with correct contrasting trim with original headlining and replacement carpets, the A40 was fitted with extras comprising two front spot lights and a pair of wing mirrors. The Farina styled body was quite a departure from the previous Austin A35, but running gear was mostly retained in these early cars.  A 948c c A-Series engine was fitted in this example, driving through a four speed manual gearbox, all described as good.

As we understand it the body was resprayed to a very high standard some twenty years ago, and the seats are believed to be original and good apart from slight cracking to the rear seat squab. The engine bay attests to the standard of the refurbishment and has all the wow-factor one could wish for. Unsurprisingly this little car has received various trophies and awards over the years and can still be entered into shows with confidence that further approbation will follow. It has apparently always been garaged and always lived in the West of England.

With this fantastic vehicle comes the V5C registration certificate and an older one plus an RF60 registration book and a BMI Heritage Certificate. Trophies and awards as gathered over the years remain with the motor car.

Viewing this vehicle will melt the heart and the credit/debit card, but it could be unrepeatable.
