Aston Martin was acquired by Ford in 1987, ensuring the company’s future and two years later, Jaguar was also taken over by the American giant; this facilitated the renaissance of the DB line, which had been dormant since the 1970s. Styled by Ian Callum, the DB7 was reminiscent of the traditional Astons. In its maker’s own words: ‘The DB7 merges contemporary and classic themes….. It stands out in a crowd without being overstated, and benefits from intelligent engineering design. Its aerodynamic shape is both elegant and functional – it could only be an Aston Martin…’

This 2001 DB7 V12 Vantage is finished in the elegant colour combination of Mendip Blue and Parchment leather upholstery with Pacific piping and Burr Walnut detailing. Its high specification includes touchtronic-automatic transmission, steering wheel rake adjustment, heated front seats and heated door mirrors, ABS, traction control, an alarm immobiliser, air conditioning, central locking, electric windows and mirrors. With a low mileage and regular servicing at Aston Martin official dealers, the DB7 remains in good condition. There are some minor cosmetic issues that could be rectified should the new custodian wish: there are the usual small bubbles on the right hand quarter panel and two road wheels could be improved, but otherwise, a beautiful car that has clearly been cherished throughout its life.  We are informed that there are no known faults and your writer can confirm that the driving experience is as excellent as one would expect. A new battery has been recently fitted and an inside car cover is supplied. The Aston has been in the same family ownership since 2012 and due to a change in circumstances, they have reluctantly decided to offer it for sale.

The history file includes the original leather bound handbooks, service history, old MOT test certificates and road tax discs, sundry invoices and the V5C registration certificate, together with an RAC vehicle inspection report, dated 20 July 2012.
