Hopefully we can soon resume relations with our friends across the channel. Who can really fall out with a country which produces such quirky and adorable vehicles like the French, in particular Monsieur Citroen. Take for example this delightful four door saloon, most elegant in a true carriage style and likely to draw maximum approbation wherever it goes.

BF 6139 comes naturally in left hand drive form with smart red and black paintwork, excellent panel work and fit, and a lovely interior of cloth and woodwork with typical instrumentation and knobbery as befits the marque. Power comes from a 1539cc side valve, four cylinder engine, coupled to a three speed manual gearbox.  Four wheeled brakes are a comforting feature for the period and are said to operate via a form of vacuum. The original disc wheels have recently fitted new tyres.

The vendor has enjoyed the B14F on numerous French rallies in 2009, ’10 and ’11; the motor car is supplied with rally plates and the FFVE Declarations of Circulation.

The Citroen is fully rebuilt we are told and certainly looking the part. Only three others are known to exist, all being the UK, but we are unlikely to give one back in exchange for a smelly trawler!

Offered with the motor car is the aforesaid rally plates and ‘passport’ book, a V5C registration certificate and a folder of photographs of the rebuild carried out in 2017.
