Spring Sale Success

An array of vintage, classic and modern vehicles were offered at our Spring Sale on the 3rd of March at Athelhampton House. Blessed with some early spring sunshine and the return of esteemed auctioneer Fabian Hine, the auction found new homes for many of the motor cars, motorcycles and classic commercials. Top of the bill was the rare 1949 Humber Super Snipe Mk II Drophead Coupe with smart coachwork by Tickford, that headed off to beautiful Cornwall for £29700. The exceptional 1947 Buick Roadmaster Super Eight Series 50 made £23100 and the super swift c.1967 MG-Maserati A6GCS Spyder Special sold for £15400 and is off to Switzerland; likewise, the 1971 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller also found a new continental home in central Europe for £6600. Two Dorset car collectors purchased the unusual 1924 Citroen 5CV Cloverleaf and the 1985 Morgan 4/4 4-Seater (in need of some TLC) for £9900 and £7590 respectively, and possibly one of the most popular cars of the sale, the 1971 Humber Sceptre Mk III Auto Saloon, made £5720. With good sales of motorcycles and more modern classics, such as the 2000 BMW Z3 3.0 (which made £6050), the auction was a good success and the DVCA team is already looking forward to our next fixture on the 2nd June 2016.
