The Birmingham Small Arms Company was established in 1860 by a group of gunsmiths who produced military and sporting firearms. In 1880, the company diversified into bicycles and by 1911, the first 3 ½ hp motor bicycles were in production. The Bantam has been with us since the early 1950s and was in service with GPO personnel for telegram and postal deliveries, as well as being popular with private individuals. Its charm may well lie in its simplicity, being easy to use and maintain.

This smart machine is fitted with a later 175cc D10 Bantam engine (plus four speed transmission). It has previously been used off road, hence the high level exhaust system.   The overall condition is tidy, it looks well in its traditional green livery, and we understand that mechanically, it is in good order, but the BSA will need to be recommissioned before returning to the road.

At present, the Bantam is unregistered, therefore a V5C will need to be obtained before returning it to the road.
