This Land Rover was dispatched to the Home Office in Evesham on the 30th of November 1955 and was first registered on the 17th March 1956. It was purchased by its late custodian in 1991 and was used as a work horse on his farm. When time allowed, the Land Rover also attended shows and steam fairs and was known to even tow a combine harvester to the Dorset Steam Fair! As is often the way, when a later model came along, RGC 924 was put into storage in a ‘nice, cosy, dry barn’ - with well-fitting doors some twenty-five years ago!

We are informed that the chassis is solid and that the multi-purpose vehicle has been started and run recently. The tilt cover, fitted before storage, remains in good order after around a quarter of a century, which is just as well as it was a gift from the farmer’s wife… Over all,  the vehicle has not been ‘got at’ and remains in very original condition, which leads to the question of whether or not the new owner recommissions the Land Rover to retain its originality, or carries out a full-blown restoration…? The odometer reading is 59336 miles, but this cannot be warranted.

The V5 document, the V5C registration certificate, a factory workshop manual and a War Office Admiralty Air Publication User Handbook are supplied.
