1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II

In 1965, Rolls-Royce introduced an entirely new design with unitary construction, self-levelling independent suspension and servo assisted brakes with three separate circuits. Power was provided by a V8 engine of 6230cc, driving through a GM three speed automatic gearbox. Progress was swift for such a large car and the smoothness was exceptional. 1977 saw the arrival of the Shadow ‘II’, which boasted rack and pinion steering and an improved front suspension. Today, these prestige vehicles offer exceptionally good value for money.

This exceptional Silver Shadow II found a new home with its current enthusiast custodian nine years ago after it had been part of a fleet of wedding cars. The motor car has clearly been maintained to a high standard throughout its life, but certainly during this ownership. Over the last few years, a new ignition module, distributor and battery have been installed; the air conditioning system was serviced at 81911 miles, a twelve thousand mile service was carried out at 82449 miles and the braking system was overhauled at 82485 miles. Recently, four new tyres have been fitted, and the starter motor has been overhauled. Needless to say, the vendor describes his Rolls-Royce as very good in most departments with no known faults, and assures us that it has had just dry and careful use.

Finished in Midnight Blue with complimentary and nicely matured light blue upholstery piped in dark blue, the front seats incorporate picnic tables and the rear seats are fitted with the rare factory installed head restraints.

The Shadow is supplied with a large history file that contains handbooks, a service book, invoices, the V5C registration certificate and numerous MOT test certificates. Tools and spare bulbs are all present, as per the handbook.
