The Honda Dream CB250 was the first of the design bearing the CB250 insignia. Its production stretched from 1968 until 73.  It was superseded by the CB250 G5 in 1974.

Originating from the first year of CB250 production, OFJ 8G was probably around the 4000th machine off the line; at some point however, it acquired an engine that was number 579 into production. The previous owner researched the machine: Devon County Council records enabled him to request that the original registration number should be restored by DVLA, and he also confirmed that the earlier engine had not been installed during his ownership.

Interestingly, the pop-riveted plates on the exhaust are not covering up holes; many years ago, this was Honda’s effort to make existing spare parts comply with new Californian laws.

The CB250 currently forms part of a private collection and has done so for the last fifteen years.  We understand that it was used for approximately twelve months during the early years of the ownership, when it covered around 2000 miles. Since then, the engine has been turned regularly.

We are told that on the 6th of February this year, new petrol pipes were fitted, the machine was fired up and ran well. With a set of modern tyres and a new MOT test certificate, the CB250 should be ready to return to the road. The V5C registration certificate is supplied, but the right-hand panel motif is missing.
