1976 Bultaco Sherpa T350

This off-road machine was purchased by the vendor in 2005. It was then shipped to Spain, where it was used as a fun mode of transport to explore the mountainous region. A programme of restoration was carried out during this period; the owner informs us that he stripped the motorcycle and resprayed the frame, tank, panels and wheels. The engine was also stripped and parts were replaced as required, including the piston rings, clutch springs, points and condenser. On reassembly, a new exhaust from the cylinder head up to the end box was fitted, together with new: rear shock absorbers, tyres, seat, front fork seals and gaiters, rear sprocket, aluminium mudguards, brake and clutch levers, all control cables, brake shoes, aluminium chain guard, and decals. Although this work was carried out in 2006-7, the Bultaco has had very limited use since and has been stored in a dry workshop and is regularly started and warmed up. The vendor advises the new custodian to drain the fuel, clean the system and add fresh petrol before returning the machine to the road or track.

The file includes numerous invoices, verifying the work carried out in Spain. We are informed that it is “a purposeful machine, very powerful and with an over generous tweak of the throttle, the front wheel starts to become airborne”!
