For 1999, Land Rover were celebrating some fifty years of production history with this Limited Edition model. There were just two shades of green on offer in deference to the original Series I, which still has an enormous following throughout the world. All enjoyed the regular Td5 power unit and the high specification included green leather seating. Numbers were small, some ninety of the short wheel base County model are recorded, therefore making this example a very collectable and highly sought after vehicle.

V381 GYA was purchased new from Yeovil Land Rover and has resided in Dorset, having been much loved and driven only by its owner and his son since new. It is described as being in good condition mechanically. The body and paint is quite smart, however the glass sunroof has been sealed to prevent leakage (a common fault with these models) but could be rectified if required. There is some slight damage to the left hand rear roof panel and some evidence of rust to both front door lower inner sections, which again could be easily repaired. The original leather upholstery is good but is showing some signs of wear and would benefit from an application of hide care or similar. In April of this year, a new front bumper was fitted (in preference to respraying the original) and the Land Rover also had some remedial bodywork carried out at the same time. All in all then, it’s a good, dependable vehicle, in perfectly acceptable condition which may or may not benefit from some further cosmetic attention, depending of course on its role in the future.

Supplied with the Land Rover are the original handbooks and wallet, the sales brochure and the V5C registration certificate.

Addendum:

A serious collector may wish to clean the underside of this Land Rover, and apply a rust proofing wax treatment.

Also, we now have invoices for work carried out: in the autumn of 2019, the clutch slave cylinder was replaced and a new battery fitted. In December 2021, the Land Rover was fitted with a new fan belt, tensioner and pulley, together with a new ball joint assembly and new wiper blades.
