The Morris Minor Traveller was first introduced in 1952.  The estate design featured ash wood framing on its rear exterior which was varnished, giving its distinctive and unique appearance. With simple mechanics comprising a four cylinder engine and a four speed gearbox, maintenance was easy and petrol consumption at around 40 mpg meant this was indeed a cheap car to run. The practical motor car’s two decades of production finally ended in 1972 when the Minor was replaced with the Morris Marina.

With few owners and the current for some five years, this Minor Traveller could be used as is or be cosmetically improved. Importantly, the woodwork is in very good condition and the bodywork and underside appears to be sound and solid. The interior could benefit from improvement, particularly the driver’s seat cover and possibly the headlining should the new owner wish. A new unfitted carpet set is included in the sale. We understand that the mechanics have been well maintained; recent work includes the fitting of: a reconditioned unleaded cylinder head, a reconditioned differential unit, new suspension trunnions, a new starter motor and a new battery. The Minor has also had a brake overhaul, with new wheel and master cylinders fitted.

With a growing family, the vendor has decided that her Traveller unfortunately has to go; it is supplied with the aforementioned carpet set and a file containing the V5C registration certificate, a V5 document, a large quantity of MOT test certificates, invoices and others.
