The Morris Ten Saloon was announced in September 1932, being a medium sized car designed for the popular 10h.p. market, largely occupied by Austin and others. The four door saloon body was of good quality and power came from a 1292cc side valve engine driving through a four speed manual gearbox.

Local Morris expert and mechanic Ron Barter owned this example from 1956 until 1969, when the current custodians purchased it for their wedding car (a photograph is included in the file). They continued to use the Morris as family transportation up until the early 1970s, when the motor car was put into dry storage. And there it has remained; indeed, EPG 182 is a genuine barn find, having not turned a wheel or been started for almost fifty years. The bodywork has stood the test of time and appears to be solid, and the doors still shut with a nice clunk. The leather upholstery is surely salvageable and the Morris seems to be pretty complete, but as one would expect, the sunroof will need recovering.

Although full of happy memories for the vendors, this little motor car deserves to move onto the next stage of its life and needs a new enthusiast owner who will appreciate and preserve its originality.

The worthwhile project is supplied with a 1973 MOT test certificate (with a mileage of 70442), together with a V5C registration certificate, a V5 document and an RF60 registration book, as well as petrol coupons, an unused Morris 10 keyring, pre-1940 Morris Register spares group information, a Morris Motors operation manual (with a well-worn cover) and a Pitman’s Book of the Morris 10.
