Four handsome Velocettes were included in the line-up for the Motorcycle Sale

Four handsome Velocettes were included in the line-up for the Collector's Motorcycle Sale, which was held on the 9th October at the Bath and West Showground. In conjunction with the Somerset Section of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club, the auction attracted buyers from all over the UK, keen to purchase a classic machine.

Most notable sales included the aforementioned Velocettes: an extremely retro and rare 1964 Vogue model sold for £1850, a traditional 1948 MAC made £3630, an unusual 1957 Valiant made £1980 and an LE of '49 vintage, which needed light recommissioning, sold for £550.

The ever-popular BSA marque was very well represented, with some eight models offered on the day, ranging from a c1950 D1 in need of total restoration (which made a very respectable £264) to a sporty 1948 C11, which sold for £1210.

Other successful sales included: two Excelsior's; a BMW, an Ambassador and a Matchless; several Francis Barnett's; a collection of pre-war bicycles and for those who preferred a more sedate mode of transportation in the form of a moped, a retro 1976 Gitane 'Comfort'.
